gratitude is the best attitude

A.
Selflessness
Has
anyone considered some of the reasoning to wear a mask and the
distancing 6 feet apart? Because of the fact that some may be
carriers of the virus and not know it, you are endangering other
lives not just your own. There is a bigger picture here. Yes
everyone is tired of staying home. Yes everyone does not like being
in this predicament. A selfless person will wear the mask. A
selfless person will distance themselves at least 6 feet apart.
Now
there are those that are not selfless. Even though the Governors of
each state are opening up slowly, it seemingly is not fast enough for
some. There are those that want what they want right now. They
feel that they have waited long enough. The only problem with that is that they are doing so at the expense
of others which could include others in their family or circle of
friends. Yes God has given us free will. Isn’t that great?
Do we use common sense or do we say “Give me what I want now.” I
even feel as though this shut-in was a year long, but in reality has
been about 3 months.
B.
Front Line Workers
Do
you consider those that are on the front-line during this Pandemic,
the nurses, doctors, housekeepers in the hospital or workers in the
nursing Homes? Those are not the only ones on the front line.
Grocery store workers, drive through restaurant and fast food workers
are on the front line also. It can be so easy to not think about
the front-line workers.
C.
Friends or Relatives
If
you have not had a friend or relative to die from the Coronavirus the
virus situation may not seem surreal to you. But have you thought
about a person that has lost someone to coronavirus what they might
say to you about the pain that they felt? Have you loss someone
from Coronavirus?
D.
Never happen to you
Possibly
you believe it will never happen to you or a loved one. Someone has
said that they were willing to take the chance to start back working
at their Salon or Barber shop because they needed to make a living
and if they could not make a living they would probably die anyway.
Others say they are going to live their life now.
E.
No Cure
So
far there is no cure for this deadly virus. So that would
definitely be a great reason to be vigilant in wearing a mask and in
distancing yourself.
F.
Patience
Have
you thought about those that are impatient? They want to party and
go to the beach and they are just tired of staying home. Does this describe you or
someone that you know.
G.
Pandemic History
As
history tends to repeat itself, there seems to have been some type of
Pandemic every 100 years or earlier. I have observed something that
has been prevalent in most of them that was the distancing and the mask
wearing. There is something about distancing ourselves to prevent
the spread of the virus.
H.
Material vs. Eternity
BET.com
talked about how people were lined up in Atlanta to buy new Air
Jordan's while ignoring social distancing. Now tennis shoes are
material things. You can always get more tennis shoes, but if you
die from the Coronavirus, you cannot get another life here on earth.
It showed how many were willing to risk their lives for a pair of
tennis shoes. I recall one man saying he was going to do what he
wanted because he could just as easily get hit by a car or be in a
car wreck.
I.
Shootings
Some
stores will not allow you in the store without a mask. During the Family
Dollar Shooting, a man lost his life just because he was doing his
job by informing the customer that she needed a mask on before
entering the store. Now had she worn a mask , she would not be in
the jail today. Her entire family and his family will be deeply
affected because of that. People need to think before reacting.
Here was a man on the front-line trying to help others by doing his
job. This was a senseless death.

Children Mysterious Illness
Beside
the fact that Michigan suffered with lead poisoning of the water and
then the Coronavirus, children in New York are now experiencing a
mysterious disease, according to Nytimes.com. They further state
that the children display the symptoms of Kawasaki disease or toxic
shock syndrome.
K.
Internet
I
am thankful that during this Pandemic the internet is available.
We have cellphones, face to face connecting, and social media. We have ways to communicate. No it is not the same as being there with
the person, but could you imagine if the internet was not available?
Could you imagine if we were not able to talk on our cellphones?
Could you imagine? Because of the internet many churches were still
able to communicate with each other, family and friends stayed
connected, and some even became closer drawn to each other.
As
all the states reopen, we will eventually be able to look back on
this time. Our children will be able to say that they lived during
this Pandemic. They will be able to tell their children that they
were apart of this History. History has repeated itself in more
ways than one. So as we show gratitude for what we have and not
what we do not have, remember it could be worst.
