Bite Size Snacks for Toddlers

Toddlers just love bite size snacks. They are so easy to handle and seemingly made just for them. I have listed a few of these healthy snacks for toddlers.  They are as follows:

Watermelon

I just love watermelon. The watermelon can be cut into quarters.  In addition, it is quite nutritional for you and your toddler. This can also be done with cantaloupe as well and cantaloupe is packed full of vitamins.

Snack ideas for toddlers

Teddy Grahms Trail Mix

Elle talks about this Trail Mix mentioning that it is something she would prepare when it was her turn to bring snacks to her son's preschool. This is her personal recipe which can be found at her site http://www.ellesnewenglandkitchen.com/blog/2012/2/1/teddy-graham-trail-mix.html. The ingredients include teddy grahams, mini pretzels, m&m's, yogurt covered raisins, and raisinets. These ingredients sound really good. I will have to make this and let you know what I think.

Animal Crackers

Have you given your toddler any animal crackers recently? The great thing about them is that besides the fact that they taste good, they are just the right size for your toddler to handle and to eat.

Trix Cereal

You may have a favorite cereal that you prefer. I recall putting trix dry cereal in a small sandwich bag for my toddlers. This was great to take with me when traveling to the store with toddlers. Usually if toddlers are snacking, they are happy, and you avoid a lot of grocery store drama. Toddlers may get hungry while you are shopping with toddler. I also, would bring a bag to church, which would help my toddler make it through the service.

Mini-hot dogs

Since a hot dog is more than a handful for a toddler, what about a mini hot dog. You can purchase the mini ball park hots dogs and just cut a full hot dog bun in half. This idea is found at http://www.myrecipes.com/kids/kid-approved/fun-snacks-for-kids-10000001913284/

Frozen Snack bites

For those of you that have babies, you might want to try frozen snack bites made from baby food. Hanna talks about this at her website http://www.eatcraftparent.com/2013/01/turn-baby-food-into-bite-size-frozen-snacks-for-babies-and-toddlers/. She emphasizes that she put a spoonful of baby food on parchment paper and froze it over night. In addition, she states she used blueberry applesauce and sweet potato baby food. This frozen receipe is good for teething babies.

Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Now this is one of my favorites. The grilled cheese sandwiches can be cut into fourths, which is about the right size for a toddler to handle. This is nutritional as well as tasty.
