Intentional* * *
My
word for the year 2020 is Intentional. Did you know there
are numerous ways to live intentionally? Some of them are listed
below:
1.
Think before Acting
Sometimes
if you just take take time to think before taking action, it can make
all the difference. Example, just because you have an opinion does
not always mean you need to give it. There is a time and place for
everything. Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, and
a time to every purpose under the heaven. Sometimes it is best to
say nothing at all.
2.
Edify
Do
your words edify (build up) someone or do they tear down. That
saying, “If you do not have anything good to say about someone do
not say nothing at all might be something to ponder. If you look
hard enough everyone regardless to how bad you may think they are has
some good quality about them.
3.
Conversation
When
having a conversation with another are you really listening or are
you anxious to jump in with what it is that you want to say?
4.
Purpose
When
talking with someone else think about if what you are saying is
serving a purpose. Do not just talk without a purpose. Think
about, “will this help this person, what do I want to accomplish in
this conversation?” “Am I being helpful or hurtful.” Unwrap
each day that you have gratefully.
5.
Focus
Are
you focused? It is so easy to become side-tracked. Focus on your
main goal. What do you want the end result to be? Look at the big
picture?
I
have chosen to be intentional this year with my health. There are
numerous areas that you could be intentional such as your career,
finances, long-term goals, short-term goals, etc. The list could go
on and on. What will you be intentional about this year?
6.
Gratitude
In
all of your intentional living remember to show gratitude. Look and
think hard enough and you will find so many things to be grateful
for. Sometimes you may compare yourself to others rather than
remembering God has made you a unique person. There is no other
person like you. Even identical twins are not completely identical
in everything. Discover your gifts and your niches and develop
them. So often I think about how God has designed our bodies and
they are wonderfully made.
7.
Time
I
mentioned in another post that God has given everyone 24 hours in a
day. It is up to you how you decide to use your time. God does not
force you to do anything. He does, however, give you freewill to
make choices. You decide how you want to use your time.
