What Does Gratitude Mean to You?

Do you have a gratitude book or journal? Do you know how important it is to show daily gratitude? Have you ever felt gratitude? Better yet have you ever shown gratitude? Gratitude is an action. There are so many ways to show gratitude.

daily gratitude

Did you know that words of appreciation is so important? Regularly expressing gratitude changes the molecular structure of the brain and makes us healthier and happier. Now who doesn’t want to feel healthy and happy?

What Gratitude Means to Me:

G**Good health

I am so thankful to God for keeping me healthy. I am so thankful to
God for all of his promises to me.

R**Reading

Did you know that there are so many that cannot read and are not attempting to
do anything about it? I am so thankful to be able to read and write. Reading is
comprehension and understanding. That is the beginning of knowledge and
knowledge is power.

A**A Home

According to the Whitehouse.gov 35 percent of our homeless are in shelters, and
the other 35 percent are unsheltered on the streets, sidewalks, parks, cars, or
abandoned building. Have you ever been homeless or possibly close to it? We sing
a song in our choir called “Thank You.” That song talks about how it “could have
been me homeless.” That is so true. Some have stated things were going well one
day and then the next day they lost nearly everything. I am so thankful for a home.

T**Time

Although God gives everyone 24 hours in a day, I love that he gives us the
choice as to how we use our time. He does not force us. It is our choice. How do
you use your time? Have you taken time to pause and look at what you are actually
doing and when you are doing it?

I**Improving

There is so much out there for me to learn. Isen’t it great that we have
an opportunity to improve. Even with out past mistakes, we can always do better.

T**The Freedom of Speech

The freedom of speech. I am thankful for America. There are countries where
freedom of speech is prohibited. There was the time when you were persecuted
because of your religion. In America we are free to choose the religion that we want
or do not want.

U**Understanding

God does give me understanding. Hebrew 4:12. For the word of
God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to
the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

D**Delicious

I am so blessed that I am wonderfully made in God’s image. Have you
ever given thought to the fact that you are able to taste food and enjoy it. In fact
I recall even saying that something tasted delicious. The same with God’s word.
Psalm 34:8. Taste and see that the Lord is good.

E**Eyesight.

I have mentioned this once before. When I had eye surgery, I gained
a good appreciation of my eyes. It made me think of those that are blind or have
lost their eyesight. Besides being grateful, it made me very humble, because I
was aware of how much I relied on God, because He is my source and strength.

What are you grateful for?
