Have you ever questioned why the book of Enoch was removed from the Bible? Do you know the reason that was given? What happened during the book of Enoch?
Remember This:
***Intentional***
1.
Why was the Book of Enoch Removed?
In Genesis
5:21-24 it states that Enoch’s fathered Methuselah and Enoch walked with God
for 300 years after Methuselah’s Birth.
Methuselah live to be 969 years, Genesis 5:27. According to
neverthirsty.org., Jesus and the apostles never called it scripture, therefore
it was not viewed as authoritative since it was not the Word of God. What were some of the things mentioned in the
book of Enoch?
2.
Did Noah have Glowing Eyes?
Chapter
CVI: vs 5 And he said unto him, “I have
begotten a strange son, diverse from and unlike man, and resembling the sons of
the God of heaven; and his nature is different, and he is not like us, and his
eyes are as the rays of the sun, and his countenance is glorious. This is according to sacred-texts.com. People mention glowing eyes.
3.
The Watchers
The Book of Enoch (1-36) describes the Watchers—angels sent to
observe humans—of whom 200 violated their orders by having relations with
humans, resulting in the Nephilim race. They further added that the watchers taught
humans writing, weaponry, reading, sorcery, cosmetics, and meteorology.
4. The Third Parable 1 Enoch 64-71
Chapters 64-69, as described by readingacts.com, cover the flood's
judgment, the fallen angels' sins, and predictions of world destruction. They further added that the flood will be a
poison to the kings and princes of the world because they deny “the spirit of
the Lord.”
5. The Book of Methuselah
106.13 stated
that “The Lord will do new things on Earth, and this I have already seen in a
vision, and made known to you.” “For in the generation of my father, Jared,
some from the height of Heaven transgressed the word of the Lord, departing
from the covenant of Heaven.
6.
Sounds like Heaven and Hell
Chapter 18 talks
about Enoch’s vision of seeing stones reaching to heaven like the throne of
God, alabaster, and the summit of the throne was of sapphire. He describes witnessing a blazing fire
and a vast abyss filled with columns of heavenly flames, falling without sky or
solid ground, devoid of water or birds—a barren and terrifying scene.
7.
How Old Was Enoch?
According to
the oldest.org., he did not live quite as long as the other men on this list as
he was taken by God when he was 365 years old, which makes him one of the only
people other than Elijah that God took to heaven without them dying. Can you imagine living to be
365 years old? Presently people are living to 119 years today. In fact, Kane Tanka, was one of the world’s
oldest persons to die in Japan at aged 119 according to Cnn.com. They further added that she was married to a
rice shop owner at the age of 19, worked in the family store until she was 103,
the second oldest person ever recorded, behind only Jeanne Calment who lived to
the age of 122. I can only imagine.
8.
Was Enoch a Prophet?
Was Enoch a
Prophet? Some individuals affirm that he was
indeed. Baptist.net states Enoch
foretold the future, walked with God, pleased God, and had life beyond the
grave.
9.
Was Enoch Taken to Heaven without Dying?
Genesis 5:24
(New International Version) States that Enoch walked faithfully with God; then
he was no more, because God took him away.
Just imagine being taken up into Heaven.
Enoch’s Childhood
Have you
ever wondered about Enoch’s Childhood?
What was it like? There is not a
lot of mention about his Enoch’s childhood, but at age 65 he fathered Methuselah. According to buildingfaithfamilies.org., he
seemingly became a changed man. Genesis
5:21-22. (New International Version) When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became
the father of Methuselah After he became
the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had
other sons and daughters.
Sometimes having
children can change people. I remember a
conversation with a friend that shared he had done drugs and misled others that
followed him with the life of drugs, but after he had his first child which was
a daughter he knew he had to change. He
shared when he saw his baby girl for the first time, he knew it was time to
change and he did. That was a powerful
testimony that I will always remember. It
just shows what we will do for our children.
I recall that during my upbringing, neither of my parents were
involved with the church. I discovered church when I saw my neighbors taking their children to
church and I wanted to go. I wanted to
see what church was about. I started
reading at age 3. I was thirsty. We had no books in our home. But we did have a Bible. I would read it. I wanted to know more about God. When I became an adult, I made sure to take
my children to church, I wanted them to know about God and the church. I even
had everyone of them dedicated to God as babies.
Have you had
children and decided you wanted to become a better person because of it? Have you had children and decided you wanted
to be the best example for them that you could? It appears that Enoch had that sentiment
when he had Methuselah.
