Awesome Ideas for Those Who Don’t like to cook

* * * * 6 Tips Just for you* * * *

There are those that like to cook and prepare meals. Then there are others that really do not care to cook. For those that do not care to cook or possibly feel you do not have the time to cook here are a few ideas that might be worth considering.

Quick Healthy Meals

1. Soups

Soups can be thrown together. When I say thrown together, you basically just add the ingredients and let your crock-pot do the rest. My crock-pot has become a great friend of mine. For example vegetable soup can include as little or as much of carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, corn, and you can add meat such as chicken and or noodles and let simmer. Or you might want to try cooking your pot roast in the crock-pot. I love making my chili in the crock-pot. I do this often during winter. This is an instant meal that is nutritional and quick. There is no slaving over a hot stove. How great is that?

2. Two meals

There are those that sometimes cook 2 meals at a time. I certainly have done it. This way you will have a meal for today and for tomorrow. You might even want to consider cooking a week's worth of meals and freezing them.

3. Pot Pies

You might want to consider buying Pot Pies in the store. I have bought them at Kroger for as low as $.84-.89 cents. These can be put in the oven and are done in about 30 minutes. You might prefer the microwaveable ones which take even less time. I prefer mine in the oven, because I love the brown crust.

4. Baked Potatoes

There is so much that you can do with a bake potato. This potato can be baked in the oven or microwave. Once baked slit the potato at the top and add your desired topping. Possible toppings could be grated cheese, broccoli and cauliflower, or hamburger topping. The toppings that could be added are endless.

5. Stir-fry

You can buy the stir-fry mix and add the meat of your choice such as chicken. Also, you can buy shrimp stir-fry; it has everything already in it including the shrimp.  How easy is that.

6. Tunafish or Salmon Salad

Both Salmon and Tunafish are high in protein. These are very nutritional loaded with vitamins. Basically just drain the fish and add celery, dry mustard, relish, and mayonnaise. Also, some like to add boiled eggs cut up.  These are just a few tips for you. Let me know how you like them.

Great ideas, Betty. I have beef stew simmering in the crockpot as I type this. But, I admit, now that my kids are grown, and unless I know they will be visiting or others, I don't cook as much as I used to. Funny you mentioned pot pies. I love pot pies and buy them at the grocery too. The funny part is growing up with 2 sisters, as we got older with a mom who worked more than full time, we took turns helping with diner. Guess what we always had on my nights? Pot pies! Your neighbor this week at #TuneInThursday
