Best Gifts For Father Day

Are you looking for the best gifts for Father’s Day? There are some amazing gifts to be found. This is an awesome way to remember your Father.

Father’s Day

***Good News***

First let’s talk about What is a Father? A father does not necessarily have to be a biological father. It could possibly be a stepfather, a single father, an Uncle, a brother, or possibly a father from adoption. What father figure have you had in your life? A biblical definition of a father is as follows according to manhoodjourney.org:

A. Accepting Your Children

Romans 8:14-16 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves so that you live in fear again; rather the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to son ship And by him we cry, “Abba Father, The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

B. Setting the Right Example

Leviticus 11:45 He is Holy: For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: Ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. 1 Peter 1:15-16 But Just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do for it is written. “Be holy because I am holy."

C. Love Without Limits

1 John 3:1 We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us-and we ought to lay down our lives for one another.

D. Discipline Well

Proverbs 13:24 Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.

E. Being Your Family’s Provider

1 Timothy 5:8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

F. Nurture Strong Connections

Romans 8:15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to son-ship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

Origination of Father’s Day

History.com talks about the origination of Father’s Day. Although on July 5,1908, A West Virginia church sponsored the nation’s first event honoring fathers, Washington State celebrated the nation’s first statewide Father’s Day on June 19, 1910.

Favorite Meal:

You might want to treat your Father to his favorite home-cooked meal. Still you might want to treat him by taking him out to dinner. He may enjoy the food and the conversation.

Barbecue:

Does your father like barbecue? Who doesn’t like barbecue. Have a barbecue in your backyard. Maybe some of your siblings can bring side dishes to go along with the barbecue.

Movie:

Although sense COVID several movie theaters are closed. There are still those that go to the movies. Possibly take your father to see his favorite picture. If he loves Westerns, take him to see a good Western. Maybe he likes old movies. You might want to watch a good Clint Eastwood movie.

Car Show

Men love their toys. What about a car show?

Shopping:

Does your dad like to shop? Have you considered taking him shopping. You might not necessarily shop for clothing, but shop for things that he might like such as bowling accessories. Maybe your father is a die-hard hunter or fisherman. Take him to the gun shop or the bait and tackle shop. You might not know what to get him, but just let him pick out the things he likes. I am sure he will find many things.

DIY (Do-It-Yourself) Project

Does your dad practically live at Home Depo? Possibly he is always fixing things around the house and starting different projects. Well why not take him to Home Depo and let him shop there. They say work is never done when it comes to a house.

Baseball or Football:

Is your father a baseball or football fan? What about taking him to a live game? That should prove interesting for the both of you.

Basketball:

Why not play a few basketball games with your father; One-on-one. Maybe make it a family thing. The entire family playing basketball with Dad. Possibly the men against the women. This might go over well if your father is very competitive.

Bowling:

If your father is a die-hard bowler, take him bowling. He should definitely love that.

Ask Him:

Ask your father what would he like to do for Father’s Day. Maybe he does not want to do anything, but then again he might surprise you by actually telling you some things you may have not thought of. You never know until you ask.

Surprise Party

How about a surprise party for your father on Father’s Day.

Trip

Is there a city possibly that your father has always wanted to visit? Possibly there is a city that he loves and would like to see.  Possibly surprise him by taking him there for a day or the weekend. You might do some sight seeing while you are there. It will be great to keep moving and to keep your father moving. That is some of the best exercise there is.
