Is it possible that technology is moving faster than human evolution can keep up? Are we still the creators, or are we just trying to stay relevant in a world running on hyper-drive?
Did You
Know?
***Purpose***
1. AI and
Humans
Can AI
replace the need for Human-Driven Innovation?
According to amanet.org. Ai is
not an organizational cure-all. They further added that AI can be incredibly
accurate in predicting outcomes based on date, but it cannot think on its feet
in the way humans do. So, I imagine AI (Artificial
Intelligence) is just what it says it is (artificial). It is not human.
2. Machines and
Consciousness
Could
machines become conscious? Could machines object to being used as tools? Would they have feelings? Science, howstuffworks.com talks about the
debate as to if machines gain the ability to be self-reflective, it could
require us to reconsider the way we think about them. They further added the possibility that
machines concluded that humans are no longer necessary.
3. Dangers of
AI
While there
are those that are embracing AI (Artificial Intelligence) have you considered
the dangers of AI? Some of the dangers
might include lack of AI transparency and explainability, job losses due to AI
automation, social manipulation through AI algorithms, lack of data privacy, biases,
weakening ethics and goodwill, harnessing AI for warfare, financial crisis,
loss of human influence, mental deterioration, and environmental
deterioration. This is talked about at
builtin.com. These are things to think
about. In my previous posts it was
mentioned how teenagers have committed suicide after talking with chatbots. It was noted had there been human
intervention that suicides possibly could have been avoided because humans
might have been able to intervene and give much needed help to those teenagers
that were troubled.
4. Environmental
Dangers
It was
mentioned in my previous post, Anointedtoday.blogspot.com: Benefits
of ChatGPT, that
Data Centers were using a large amount of water.
News.harvard.edu talks about more than 4,000 data centers are already in
operation, mostly in Virginia, Texas, and California. Communities are pushing back to make sure
that we are not sacrificing climate goals just for the sake of building more
data centers faster. When you think
about it, faster is not always better.
5. Infrastructure
and Policy
Can
infrastructure and policy keep up? Because
of AI explosive growth of AI usage, it is difficult to develop policies or
infrastructure at the speed necessary to keep up with the growth of data
centers. According to Msn.com as researchers were doing the study the numbers
of models and products introduced got outdated as they were doing the study.
6. AI
(Artificial Intelligence Prediction)
Pleurasight.com
has forecasted that even though customer demand for AI will grow in 2026, the
bubble will start to slowly delate as GenAI companies struggle to find a path
to profitability, while spending big on resource-hungry data centers.
7. AI Trends
Did you know that foundational Ai principles will rewrite organizational DNA, copilots to bid coding will allow Ai to continue to reinvent IT (Information System), AI is growing faster and powering exponential growth and change across organizations, risk management will be the price of admission for AI, and AI will hang in the balance between freedom and control? Do you feel that you are able to keep up with AI? Do you remember when AI offered all the different options when making a phone call? I remember there were instances that none of the options fit the situation that I was calling about and that was a very frustrating time. I remember being put on hold after listening to the numerous options such as (push 1 for this and push 4 for that.)
Just recently I have had a billing
problem. I was told by AI after giving
me numerous options that if I wanted to speak to a live person, I would be
charged $10.00. I thought to myself,
“really.” I then said, “Speak to a live
person.” “Bring it on.” The sadness of this is that AI was not able
to help me, but rather allowing me to speak with a live person would try to deter
me by telling me there would be a $10.00 charge. I had never heard of anything like
that. That was very discerning.
8. Self-Driving
Vehicles
Who is
responsible for Self-Driving Car Accidents?
According to consumershield.com all self-driving cars must have a human
in charge, monitoring what the vehicles does.
They further added that because of that, most of the time, the driver will
be the one liable.
9. Self-Driving
Trucks in Florida
Are
self-driving trucks in Florida? Yes,
there are. They are already on the road. It uses sensors that are reported to the AI
system in an office. So, when you are on
the road, you may be sharing the road with an AI self-driving truck. There is a suggestion that it has been hard to
hire truck drivers that can go into an office and work and 8-hour shift.
10. What States
Allow self-driving vehicles?
Are there
states that allow self-driving vehicles?
Yes, some of the following states allow self-driving vehicles; Arizona,
Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, New York, and Washington. Tech.co talks about this. They further added that self-driving vehicles
are not allowed in California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota,
and Rhode Island. Do you see your state
listed here. Although my father never
had a car, I always had transportation by bus, cab, or train. I loved riding the train since my father
worked there as a porter. I also
remember taking my driver’s test in high school to learn to drive. That was very exciting for me. But with self-driving vehicles will the new
generation just rely on AI to drive their vehicles for them? This is something to think about.
