Vita Mahjong Fun and Relaxation

Have you played Vita Mahjong?   Did you know that it is relaxing unlike some other games that cause much excitability?

Did You Know?

*** Purpose***

      1. Relaxation

At first, I did not believe the ads for Vita Mahjong. They claimed the game was relaxing and could even help you unwind before sleep.  I had observed that some other games were not like that.  I know from research there is suggestion of not playing games before bedtime and not being on your cellphone because of the blue light from the cellphone how they activate the brain to stay awake.   I have played Vita Mahjong now for several months online and I can say it is relaxing. I like this particular game also because I will receive small messages across the screen while playing such as, “Good job greetings from Germany” or “Hope you are enjoying this game.”   I then started thinking about this game that is so relaxing even though I may play it on my cellphone.

Vita Mahjong is designed for Seniors.   It is perfect for players with visual impairment, no time pressure, offers daily challenges for the brain, there is competition between friends, it helps strengthen memory recall and pattern recognition skills, keeps the mind active and engaged, and provides a calming activity that reduces anxiety and stress. This is talked about at Vitamahjong.org.

     2. Types of Mahjong Play

Did you know that there are various types of Mahjong play?  Vitamahjong.com talks about Chinese, American, Japanese, and Taiwanese versions of Mahjong.  They further added that Mahjong originated in 19th century China during the Qing Dynasty and has since spread globally.

     3. Number of Players

I have not played against other players.   Generally, with multiple players there are 2-4 players.  I have only played as a single player like solitaire.

     4. Types of Single player Games

Single player games I have played that are like each other are Vita-Mahjong, Vigor Mahjong, The Voyage, Mahjong Mingle,   and Arcadia Mahjong.

     5. Mahjong for Extra Money

You think you want to make money playing Mahjong?   Think again.   According to AI overview some players may receive small payouts or gift cards, reviewers across platforms say there is an unreachable minimum before you can withdraw; like $40-to$100, many report earnings completely stop before reaching the minimum, there are excessive ads, and some apps don’t offer bank or PayPal transfers.  So just keep in mind the reason you are playing.  I know that I play because I have found it to be very relaxing. I cannot say that about some of the other games that are offered online to play.

    6. Mahjong History

Time.com talks about this.   The fad beginning was a game associated with the American elite, people like President and First Lady Harding and Hollywood celebrities.  The game became a way especially for white Americans, to help themselves transition into this new-self-consciously modern era.   They further add that the 1920’s was a very racist era enabling white Americans to embrace a game they saw as an esteemed an elite part of a past Chinese culture, while rejecting Chinese people.

     7. Dominoes Online

Another game that can be relaxing is Dominoes.  Now I have to admit, when it comes to Dominoes, I am competitive and I do play against other players online.  Did you know that dominoes involves problem-solving, memory, attention and concentration, pattern recognition, reduce stress and anxiety, boosts social connections and combats loneliness, improves moods, enhances communication skills, and encourages healthy competition and goal setting.

I recall playing dominoes with our neighbors.   It was the ladies against the men.  They asked me did I know how to play.  I explained I mostly had played online against other players.   I had never played as a team.  Another lady and myself were on a team.  I was happy to say that we beat the other team in about 3 games before we needed to stop.   My team player was from out of town and needed to start traveling before it got too late.   I was happy because I discovered team playing was totally different from just playing one on one with another.  It was almost like a different ball game.  Although I never cared too much about card playing, I love dominoes.

    8. Daily Challenge

There is usually a daily challenge before the game.    The purpose of this daily challenge is to clear specific tile arrangements, collect trophies or rewards that track your progression and achievements, and to improve memory, focus, and tile-matching strategies through varied layouts and difficulty levels.  Google play further adds that you may use hints and undo options sparingly to solve tricky tile pairs, plan moves ahead and focus on matching exposed tiles first.

    9. Vita Mahjong #1

Have you ever wondered why Vita-Mahjong has stayed #1 in the United States?  Mahjong has deep roots in East Asia. Vita-Mahjong reframe Mahjong as a fast, intuitive puzzle resulting in a game that feels instantly familiar to United State players, while carrying “China’s flavor” through tiles, art, and sound. Foxdata.com further adds that most United State players have never learned four-player Mahjong, but they do know puzzles like Tetris or Candy Crust. So, Vita Mahjong bridges the gap with a “match-two stack-clearing that is easy to learn in one minute.  I am one of those players that has not learned the four-player game, but that is one of my goals for the future so that I can play against other players like I do in Dominoes.

    10. Getting More Hints

When starting out you need to build up your inventory.   Leave auto-complete and auto-match on and try not to use rewards.  Restarting levels a few times may increase your skill at finding and chaining matches also you may be able to solve it easier.  Gamefaqs.gamespont.com talks about this.   They further added that Vita is constantly adding and changing to make it more interesting.
