Whether you have home security, own a computer or cellphone sometime during your lifetime you will be leaving a digital footprint.

1. Digital Footprints

What is a digital footprint? Examples of a digital footprint might include tagged photos, browsing history including deleted one, text messages and videos. Whether they are negative or positive they are permanent. You may not think about it at the time but there are numerous places where you leave a digital footprint. For example when you visit the doctor or go to the hospital your information is inputted online even though they tell you it is confidential. The Government can access nearly anything that is online. The banks, Department of motor vehicles, voting online, auto places, fast food restaurants, cellphones, and credit card purchases all leave digital footprints. We are now living in a digital society.

2. Facial Recognition

Facial recognition identifies and matches human faces to images or videos. Facial recognition may be used by the airport, Facebook, stores, sports stadiums, Federal Bureau of Investigation and various law enforcement agencies according to eff.org. They further add that mobile face recognition allows officers to use smartphones, tablets or other portal devices to compare photos of a driver in a face recognition database.

3. Privacy

There is very little privacy in the world today. Have you noticed those cameras on various buildings, on the highway, restaurant buildings, and many other places. Start observing as you drive or walk to various places. Camera’s are all around us. The government can access and does access these cameras when needed.

4. Surveillance Cameras

According to CNBC. Com there are an estimated 770 million surveillance cameras installed around the world today, and 54% of those them are in China.

5. Your Webcam

Did you know that the Federal Bureau of Investigations can spy on you through your webcam without triggering the indicator light and has had the technology for several years? Yes that is according to daily.mail.co.uk. Also, in the event that someone was to try and hack your webcam it is good practice to keep it covered unless using it. It is just a good practice to use.

Also, as I watched “The con- Varsity Blues ” on ABC television, I discovered that 53 people including 33 parents were indicted. Most of them agreed to have their children’s ACT test scores changed to a higher number than they actually scored in order to be accepted into a certain college. They only had to pay a large sum of money such as $50,000 for some. This is nothing for most of the wealthy individuals. The Federal Bureau of Investigations started wire-tapping the individuals phones which proved to be very incriminating to the parents that were involved in this scandal. So the government has the ability to watch and listen when they deem necessary.

6. Burner Phones

Yes a burner phone can be traced, but there still may be times that you might want to use a burner phone. According to USA.today if you are using a dating app you might not want to give our your primary number, or in the event of an emergency a burner phone is ideal as a backup phone. Burner phones are not expensive and can be bought prepaid.

7. Artificial Intelligence

Did you know that Facebook shutdown there AI project they were working on regarding chat rooms because the chatbots started developing their own language other than English and other than what it was programmed for? Yes that is according to firstpost.com. I could see how concerning this could be. In other words a computer thinking on it’s own and not doing what it was programmed to do, but what it thought was best.

8. Your Name is Important

Did you know it is possible that you and someone else that is on the government watchlist might have the same name? That is according cheatsheet.comhealth fitness.com. I recall when one of my daughter’s was just married and was on her way to her honeymoon. Her husband has a Muslim name and was detained at the airport. They suggested she could board the plane but not him. Now why would she leave on her honeymoon without her husband? I’m just saying. Anyway because of him being detained they did miss their flight and they missed their cruise boat.  Not a great way to start your honeymoon. I was so sorry for them. It is unthinkable that this would happen, but it did. They further add to be aware if your webcam is on even when you are not using it.

9. Beware the Government might be Watching

Did you know that the toll-roads use radio frequency identification (RFID)? According to nbcnews.com Police can use electronic toll-collection information to track a person’s whereabouts and divorce lawyers can also us the records in court. One divorce lawyer stated to the Associated Press in 2007, "It’s an easy way to show you took the off-ramp to adultery ."

10.  Watch Your Privacy

Exactly Who is the NSA? The NSA is the United States National Security Agency. Now according to ExpressVPN.com this organization knows everything you own and buy. They further add that they can access your credit card networks, payment gateways, wire transfer facilities, and that they follow every cent of your money; where it comes form and what you spend it on.

11. Your Cellphone

Pay attention to your cellphone. Have you noticed that your phone lights up, shuts down, turns on or downloads applications by itself? According to koolspan.com mobile phone.com it might be possible that your device is being controlled. They further add that you might hear background noise or your phone is not charging properly because conversations are continuously being recorded. So beware and be cautious of what may or may not be happening to your cellphone.
