My Favorite Things For 2020

Do you remember Oprahs favorite things? Well I have a few of my own favorite things too. Have you thought about what favorite things that you have? Think about it.

Your favorite things could be a variety of things ranging from online learning, cooking recipes, beautiful items that you have purchased, or even activities that you like to do. Thinking about your favorite things and sharing them with others is one of the most selfless things that you can do. A few of my favorite things are listed below.

1. Cajun Creole Shrimp and Sausage with Vegetables

Although this recipe calls for Cajun seasoning, because I do not like the hot Cajun, I eliminate it from the recipe when I cook it and it still is a quick tasty meal. I found this recipe at recipecritic.com So I cannot take credit for this, but it is oh so good. Since there has been a shutdown in our states, I discovered I have been doing a lot of cooking. I have the time and I enjoy doing it. The recipe is listed below.

1. Large shrimp frozen without the tail
2. sausage pork or chicken…. I use Koegel or Eckrich
3. Zuchini- Medium size… I did not know I like zucchini but it is good
4. Yellow squash- Medium size
5. asparagus- bunch I do not use asparagus, because I do not like it
6. red bell pepper
7. salt and pepper. ..
8. Olive Oil
9. Cajun seasoning. . . I do not use because I do not like hot stuff

2. 25 Words or less

I played this game for the first time 1 day with my grandchildren. Little did I know that there was a television program named 25 Words or less. Although Family Feud was my first choice I discovered I like the 25 Words or less Television program. It required fast thinking in a short amount of time. I love playing along as celebrity and contestants attempt to give team members clues to the words they are trying to get them to say with only 25 words of less. They awesome thing is that they can win $10,000. It would be nice if people at home watching could win some money too. Okay that is a suggestion that I sent in to them.

3. Dial Antibacterial soap. 99.9% germ killer

I love this soap. It was recommended after a family member had surgery. It is inexpensive. Also, I recall a relative that had eczema. The only soap that she used was dial. I was unaware at the time if it was antibacterial. It is very good soap though. I definitely use it during this pandemic. There is so much emphasis on washing our hands.

4. Deep Breathing

I first learned about the importance of deep breathing during my pregnancies. The classes that I took expressed great emphasis on deep breathing during labor and delivery. I have found that deep breathing works in many other circumstances. They help for people that have panic attacks. How often have you seen people telling someone, “ Now don’t panic, take a deep breath.” Taking 10 deep breaths breathing in and exhaling slowly calms and relaxes the nerves. Breathing is free. This brings to my mind Psalm 50:6 “Let Everything that has breath praise the Lord.” So often you may take breathing for granted until you have a breathing problem.

5. Nutrogena Hydroboost Cream

I have used several Nutrogena projects. I have nothing but good to say about them. I recall as a teenager having a little acne. When I tried Nutrogena soap, it cleared the acne up instantly. I saw the advertisement of the hydroboost. I liked that it was colored blue and has an awesome fragrance. It really does work, but it is kinda pricey, but worth it.

6. Podcasts and Utube

I started listening to podcast. I really do like them. They are free. There are many subjects and authors available. I like to listen to Andy Stanley, Rick Warren, and Joel Osteen. Many podcast authors have their material on utube as well. I often listen to Victoria Osteen on utube. Now that we are going through this covid-19 Pandemic I have been listening to my Pastor on utube and several others including my brother and a few dear friends in the ministry on utube. You may be a great reader of fiction or nonfiction. There are numerous authors on Podcasts. I have a few audiobooks one of which I really like is Charles Duhigg the author of The Power of Habits. I learned so much from listening to that audio-book. I have been learning through podcasts because they are free. Now some e books are free. It depends on what you want and what you are looking for.

7. Bath and Body Creams

I have tried bath and body lotions. They are very nice, but the body creams are even better. They are 24-hour moisturizers. They have numerous fragrances. The fragrances that I like the most are Japanese Cherry Blossom, Moon Light Path, and Sea Island Cotton. What is your favorite fragrance? If you have ever heard of layering, I have sometimes layered. Layering is using the same shower gel, body cream, and or body spray. That gives you that extra fragrance. Bath and body shower gels are just awesome.

8. Favorite Ice Cream

My favorite ice cream is an orange ice cream not orange sherbet. I have seen it at Baskin and Robins. I forget the exact name of it, but I remember it had small bits of peaches in it. It has been hard to find. Most grocery stores do not have it. I recall my Uncle Archie had a restaurant in Michigan City, Indiana. He sold many different flavors of ice cream. That orange ice cream was one of them. My cousin and I worked for him one summer when I was a teenager. That summer I gained about 10-15 pounds, but it was the best summer I had. Although I don’t remember the exact name of the ice cream, if any of you know it, please feel free to let me know.

Now what are your favorite things?

Lots of wonderful things! That cajun shrimp creole looks amazing! And who doesn’t love a little bit of ice cream! Haha. I always go for vanilla because then I can add all sorts of toppings to keep it interesting. Thanks for sharing your favorites and linking up.
