Bloggers Meet and Greet December, 2018

Hi everyone. Do you wonder when Jesus Christ was born? Have you ever considered why Santa Claus is talked about so much?

History of Christmas

A Few Things You Should Know. . . . .

If you are not with Google feel free to post this bloggers meet and greet and comment with your favorite post at your favorite media site.

1. Jesus Christ

For Today's Meet and greet we will talk about Jesus Christ and Christmas. Now according to the Jewish Calendar, born on October 4, BC 4. So where does December 25, 2017 Christmas originate?

Oliver Cromwell and Puritan forces took over England in 1645, they vowed to cancel Christmas. From 1659 to 1681 Christmas was outlawed in Boston and anyone exhibiting Christmas spirit was fined 5 shillings. Christmas was declared a federal holiday June 26,1870. Although it has been referred to as a pagan holiday people started embracing Christmas in the 19 century.

Do you really remember the reason for the season? John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. He also has supernatural powers. Do you know of incidences when the doctors gave up because they did all that they could do. Then BAM! miraculously a person was healed? Also, note even though Jesus performed miracles in the past, miracles are still being performed? Possibly you have witness miracles that you or a friend have experienced.

2. Rudolph. . .the 9th Reindeer

Rudolph was created by Robert L. Mays, a copywriter at Montgomery Wards Store, according to History.com. He wrote in 1939 a Christmas-Theme Story telling about how other reindeer made fun of Rudolph's bright red nose. Sounds like that was a form of bullying. His book in 1946 sold for millions of dollars.

3. Santa Claus

Do you know when Santa Claus originated? According to History.com the legend of Santa Clause dates back to a monk named St. Nicholas; around 280 A.D. in Patara. The Anniversary of his death December 6 was traditionally considered a lucky day to make large purchases or to get married. Stores began to advertise Christmas shopping in 1820. Christmas became a legal holiday in 1870 which was declared by President Ulysses S. Grant.
