8 Awesome Benefits of a Linky Party

Linky Parties are quite popular. You can basically find a linky party for just any any subject now ranging from art, food and drink, home decor, or technology. Linky parties do increase traffic to your blog or website.

Linky Party

I did some searching, because I was curious when did linky parties start. I only found linky parties dating back to 2007. Now if they started before that time someone please correct me and I would definitely like to visit the site.

1. What is a Linky Party?

A Linky Party is a new creative way to link up your blog with other websites. There may be one host at the sight or as many as 12 or more hosts. Linky sites are available 7 days a week. Instead of you attempting to fit into their schedule, you can fit them into your schedule. You just need to find the right one for you and your niche. I have seen video Linky Parties and Linky Parties that you will just add your blog to the link.

2. Pajamas

I love that I can visit a linky party in my pajamas. There is no need to dress up. Now the exception to that would be if you are joining a video linky party. In that scenario, you do want to dress appropriately.

3. Hosting or Joining

Now you do have the option of a hosting a linky party site on your blog or website, but that is something you will need to decide. Hosting is not something that I thought I wanted to try personally, but I do love posting to various sites. Even if you do host a site, you still can post to other linky parties as well. From what I have observed at most sites, there usually is more than one host to help facilitate it. I can see as the site grows larger, more work is involved.

4. Guest posting

Guest posting at a linky party can also bring you more exposure. Many of the sites welcome guest posting.   I have guest posted at other sites as well as  linky sites.

5. How Many to Join

Now I would say you might want to join at least 4 or more. I originally started with only one to get the feel of it and slowly increased it. Yes there may be some you join and discover it is not the right fit for you. In that case you are always free to stop at that linky party. I have discovered that. I have also found there are some linky parties that I like and cater to more. The main thing is finding a party in your niche or one that you feel comfortable in. If you have a recipe blog, you may not want to party at a home remodeling blog. You may also note that each party has it's own specific days and rules that you can post to it before it closes. For Example one board may say you have 6 days to post and then it closes while another board may only give you 2 or 3 days and then it closes.

6.  Pinterest pin-It Linky

This Linky party is different in that you pin a pin from the Linky Party to your Pinterest site to link as oppose to adding your actual blog link. I really like this one so far much better, because I am a visual person and I also love Pinterest.

7. My Favorite Linky sites

One of my favorite sites is Live It Up Healthy, Happy, Green & Natural Blog Hop#66.   I was featured there in May, 2015. I am a bit of a health buff so for that reason I really like this blog where the owner Deborah gives great eating and exercise tips. Another linky site that I really like is WholeHearted Wednesday Linkup.  The owner is Judith. This site shares Christ-like love and I love that. There are many others that I could name, but these are two of my favorite that come to mind.

8. Constant Learning

I am constantly learning at the various linky parties. I am learning from the experience of others and I am sharing my learning with others as well. Try some of the linky parties and see for yourself. I am sure you will find the right fit for you.

It's great to hear about the benefits. I'm very new to these, but have been having fun trying them out. In the last two weeks, I've made new connections, and discovered some excellent blogs I didn't know existed through these Linky parties.

I'm considering hosing a weekly Linky Party myself in 2016. Thanks for the links to the new parties--I'm looking forward to checking them out--and for the new, party insights :)

I love linky parties; I have just started to fully embrace them this year and have seen tremendous increases in my page views and comments. I have also made a lot of blog "friends" through revisiting the same parties over and over again. I found so many more pinterest boards to follow, facebook pages to "like", and learned so much about blogging, crafting, homeschooling and all those things that interested me.
