Did
you know that President Grover Cleveland signed Labor Day into law on
June 28, 1894? This was done to repair ties with American workers,
according to History.com. They further add that in the 1800’s in
some states children as young as 5 or 6 toiled in mills, factories
and mines only earning a small portion of their adult counterparts’
wages.
I just could not imagine that.
I just could not imagine that.
Well
Labor Day also has a significant meaning for me, because my first
born was on Labor Day. I really wanted to eat barbecue, but my Labor
had started. The doctor suggested not to eat once labor starts so as
to possibly have an easier delivery. Well I was not in labor long.
Soon as I arrived at the hospital my first born was delivered in 20
minutes. She was anxious to get here and has been running a fast
pace every since.

Thanks so much for linking up at the #BloggingGrandmothersLinkParty 41.
What a coincidence that you went into labor on Labor Day but didn't have to labor long before your baby girl was born. Glad you didn't eat!! I hadn't eaten for days before my first babe was born and as soon as she slipped out I ordered a BBQ sandwich, chips and Twinkies. Thanks for linking up with #BloggingGrandmothersLinkParty
