Coding (aka) Programming
According
to edutopia.org Coding is not just something of the past, but
something that has started in the elementary schools. It is
programming that is fun for the students. They further add that
coding may include interactive games or even animations. I recall
when my grandson graduated from elementary to middle school a song
that he created and coded was played during their graduation. I was
so proud of him.

Wheel of Choices
Did

app in the classroom that is based on a wheel of choices. There is
no more boring seat-work. It gives the students a chance to move and
be a little silly. There are a variety of ways to use this app in
the classroom such as
giving rewards, voting for read aloud, indoor recess games, and much
more.

Computer Days
Did
you know that some schools actually have a computer days? Normally
cellphones must be turned off. During computer days they will have a
class where they are aloud to bring their devices and play games
during that class period.

Skype in the Classroom
Skying
in the classroom is a tool that can be used for inviting an author to
discuss a book, sharing a project, putting on a performance, and much

Chromebooks
Exactly
what are chromebooks? Chromebooks are laptops for work and play.
Some schools are giving chromebooks to their students. The students
are allow to take the laptops home and may have homework on them as
well. There are various projects they can do such as choosing a book
and listening to the story, practice math skill, create a classroom
blog, practice geography skills, and much more.
6.
Governor Whittmer’s Budget-Education
Did
you know that Governor Whittmer’s Budget for Michigan education is
for K-12 and includes special education, low-income, and career and
technical education for students. This is awesome, because children
are the future.
7.
Search Engines for Kids
Did
you know that according to educatorstechnology.com there are search
engines designed specifically for kids? They are as follows:
