Have You Had Your Meds Today?

How often have you heard someone say, “He did not take his meds today.” Well have you considered there is spiritual medicine that can be taken daily?

daily Bible study

The Bible gives instruction to believers. I believe God. The Bible has everything that I need, although I can admit I may not always act like it does.

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and inttents of the heart.

Do You meditate on a scripture daily? Does reading and meditating on God's word become a part of your daily lifestyle? When we search the scriptures, we can find everything that we need for daily living. This is a good dose of daily meds for your life. I can attest that there are have been many times when life did not look so wonderful for me. No matter what it looked like or even felt like, I still repeated what God said about it rather than what I felt about it, because I know I may feel one way today, then tomorrow I may feel differently. Emotions can be unpredictable. I recall thinking to myself maybe I was too harsh on that person when it came to tough love. Then a friend addressed my situation with what God says about it. She never said this is what I think or feel, but what does the Bible say about that. I will always remember that. “What does the Bible say about it?”

Proverbs 17:22

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. Do you know of those that never laugh or smile? Do you know of those Christian and Non-Christians that are always serious? I have discovered laughter feels so good. I like to be around people that are merry. I like to be around people that are happy and they know it. The smile on their face and the laughter they produce is quite contagious. I have to always remember not to wear my feelings on my face, because a woman once told me, “Betty smile, you always look so serious.” I was not aware of that until she told me that. Also, I once went to a seminar and sat in the back. When I approached the speaker afterward to talk to her she said, “ I am so glad you smiled, when I looked at you sitting in the back, you appeared to be mean and mad.” I thought to myself, “I had no idea that she had viewed me like that.” I also have observed when grocery shopping ofttimes toddlers will waive and smile at me, before I smile. Children seem to get it about smiling.

Numbers 6:24

The Lord bless you and keep you. This scripture can be used to bless others and to bless yourself. In fact this is a scripture that has been used quite often by my pastor at the closing of Sunday Service. It does not hurt to bless someone in their coming and their going, because you never know whether that will be your last time seeing them. One of our choir members lead a song one Sunday and the next Sunday she was not at church, because she passed away in her sleep. I had no idea the Sunday that she sang was the last Sunday I would see her alive.

Concordance and Index

Did you know that in your bible index and concordance you can look up whatever your problem or concern might be. The answers to sickness, healing, money, and much more can be found in there.

Perfect One

I had to laugh as I watched the Steve Harvey Show. He was attempting to set a woman up on a date. She had many requirements for her prospective date. She wanted him to be perfect. Steve responded to her, “I am sorry Jesus is not available.” Our attitude is part of our medicine. People observe how we respond to situations. Employers observe their employees. I was mystery shopped at my former place of employment and told the next day that I passed with flying colors. But I also mystery shopped an individual at a business in the past. That individual was very negative and had nothing nice to say about his/her employer even though I constantly tried to steer the employee to the positive side. Sadly, I did report this to the employer. The employee had no idea of who I was. That was another sad incident. There is no perfect one but Jesus. But how many times do we want others to be perfect? Do we allow any measure for our children to fail? Do we realize that we may sometimes fail, but it is not important how many failures we have, but how we get up. Our attitude is part of our medicine. People observe how we respond to situations. Remember a merry heart, blessings, and attitudes can be a daily dose of spiritual blessings as well as physical healings for the body. Don't forget your daily meds that are found in god's word.

Another inspiring post, Betty. Thanks for these very important reminders, especially the one about perfection. Very few realize that looking for perfection in others is futile, because in reality: perfection doesn't exist. Thanks for sharing this on #SHINEbloghop!

Dwelling in God's Word is vital to our light in this darkening world. Oh, how we each and all need to be reminded of just how important spending time with our God is and can be! Thanks so much.

My husband and I have been spending a part of each evening reading a chapter at a time together and this is drawing us closer to the Lord, to one another, and enriching us. We are also increasing our light to those we come in contact with. It is great!

Thanks for your encouragement and thankful you are my neighbor today at R & R.
