Children Love Music

Music is good for you and your children. Sometimes you may take for granted the healing powers of music.

music therapy

Have you ever listened to an old song that you used to listen to when you were in a past relationship? Music does aide in healing. Have you noticed the memories that start to flood back? Those memories may have been positive or negative memories.

The hospital

According to Mary Plummer at scpr.org. News, 10,000 patients receiving art, music or dance therapy in 2014. Nicole Albers, a children's Hospital art therapist commented that it was so amazing to watch patient's pain disappear over the course of a therapy session.

Stores

I have been in retail stores, medical offices and even beauty salons where music was playing quietly. Apparently managers are aware of the importance of music.

Babies and music

In fact, babies come here with natural rhythm. It is internally made within them. Have you watched when a baby moves to music? You will be able to see the enjoyment in their face and in their movement as well.

I recall when my grand babies were born; they were in the hospital for about a week. During that time I recall visiting them daily and talking and singing to them as well. Also, before the babies were born, my daughter would mention that whenever I was around her and started talking the babies would start kicking and moving. So I decided to make a tape that she could play for them while they were in the womb.

When my grandchildren come over, they always have a new youtube musical video that they want me to see and we dance. That is great exercise for me too.

Feeling Good

Dr. Mercola states that music triggers activities in the brain that release the feel-good chemical dopamine and it is involved in forming expectations. No wonder children as well as adults feel good when dancing. Children are so innocent and they realize the great feelings they get when dancing.

Gifted Hands

When I watched the movie, Gifted Hands with Cuba Golding Jr., this was a great display of how music can be used. This movie was based on the life of Ben Carson. This surgeon would play classical music playing while he operated on his patients.

The Bible

The devil was created as Lucifer. He was perfect in every way. He was a perfect example of having the ability to play beautiful music, even though he eventually was cast down and is now known as “the prince of the air”) Ephesians 2:2. I discovered that I do like listening to classical music. What types of music do you like to listen to?
