How to Stop bullying
Bullying is no joke. There has been more emphasis on how to stop bullying. Are you a spectator that stands around and watches someone get bullied? Then you are just as guilty as those doing the bullying?
Types of Bullying
Are you aware that there are several types of bullying that can occur in your child's life. Those types of bullying include verbal, social, physical, and Cyberbullying.
Deliberate, repetitive, and social aggressive behavior is social bullying. Did you know that gossiping can cause mental emotional harm, and social isolation. Those negative words can cause harm. The sad thing about this is that these types of behavior can carry over into adulthood.
There have been numerous cases of bullying that have occurred in Michigan. It is also sad to state that it is a fact that Michigan is the 48th state to adopt the Anti-bullying law. Why did it take Michigan so long to get on board with this program? The anti-bully law was signed in Michigan by Governor Snyder, Tuesday, December 6, 2011.
Facts About Bullying
Did you know that kids that are bullied may feel powerless, unpopular, and alone. Kids who bully others believe that bullying will help them fit in, and make them think they are better than the kid they are bullying. In addition, kids that see bullying may feel depressed or worried.
According to the CDC suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people. According to ABC news, neaarly 30% of students are are either bullies or victims of bullying. In addition 160,000 students stay home from school because of the fear of bullying..
Tell Your Kid
Did you know that 77% of Parents feel their child will witness a bullying incident in school. Do you know what to tell your kid about bullying? Tell your child to ask the bully to stop, don't join in, make friends with the person being bullied so they know that you care, tell an adult so that the bullying rule may be enforced, and make sure your child knows that bullying is never okay.
