5 Popular Inspirational Bible Verses for Kindergarteners

1. Galatians 5:22-23

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

This was a scripture that was used in Sunday School to teach several kindergartners. You would be surprise at how well the children understand and learn. Love overcomes many things. I recall two siblings had an altercation. The 4-year-old wanted to learn to tie her shoes, but her shoes had no strings. She decided she wanted to practice on her brother’s shoes. She asked him if she could, but he stated clearly he preferred to tie his own shoe and that she could not tie his. She became offended and hit him. I immediately had a talk with her and let her know this was not acceptable behavior and she owed her brother an apology immediately. She did apologize, but to my surprise her 4-year-old brother, with a big smile on his face gave her a big hug, and said,” It’s okay sis, I just love you.” I was so touched. He showed nothing but love for his sister. That brings to mind the following scripture:

2. Romans 12:21

"Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."

Now that little boy could have hit her back or said things that were not nice to her, but he chose not too. He chose to embrace her and show his love for her. This reminded me how God shows his love to us in so many ways.

Bible verse stickers is a great way to enforce inspirational Bible verses too.

3. James 1:19

"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath."

This is a verse that is good not only for children, but adults too. It is also a verse that children can learn easily. Kindergartners can be reminded to listen carefully and to think before speaking. Often I have heard teachers telling their kindergartners to put on their thinking caps and to remember what is expected of them. I have seen this enforced greatly before school field trips. This is good because when children go on field trips, they get very excited and emotional. So often I have verbally said, “Thank you Jesus.” I observed another kindergartener one day saying, “Thank you Jesus.” I then thought someone has been listening to me.

4. Philip. 4:19

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

This is a great verse to share with kindergarteners. Children rely heavily at this age on their parents. I recall watching 2 siblings having an altercation as to who would get to do what? After their mother decided who would get to do what, the one sibling blurted out, “She always gets her way.” She always gets to do what she wants.” I then sat her down and asked her to think about what she just said. I explained to her sometimes things may be out of your control, but you can always pray to God to change your situation. I explained she should pray to Him not to hurt another or harm another, but she could pray that her situation would change for her. Sometimes we just want so many things and we forget to look at and see that God has already supplied our need, we just happen to want more. I explained to her she can pray to God at any time and he will hear her.

5. Ephesians 6:1

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right."

Kindergarteners need to know this early in life. Parents are here for a reason. They need to know most parents have their welfare at heart. I just hate to see small children disobeying and just being rude to their parents or anyone else. They need to know what is acceptable and what is not. If a parent does not teach them that, they will not know. It takes persistence and patience. Would you share this article with someone you know?
