We want to take the time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. To my followers I do appreciate you. Remember the reason for the season.

1. Poinsettia

Have you ever received a Poinsettia plant or possibly gave one as a gift to someone else? I remember one Christmas my husband bought me a Poinsettia. I had that Poinsettia about 12 years. It died last year. I did not know they could last that long. It only bloomed with the red leaves when I first received it, but the green leaves were still blossoming and were as beautiful as ever. Wilstar.com states that Poinsettias are native to Mexico; named after Joel Poinsettia. The Mexicans in the eighteenth century thought the plants were symbolic of the Star of Bethlehem.

  1. I love poinsettias! I'm amazed yours lasted 12 years. On the California coast, we have seen them as outdoor plants, which is amazing. I think they're beautiful, and I love the colors, so symbolic of Christ. Thank you for sharing this post at the Will Blog for Comments #19 linkup. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
