Did you know that technology is increasing more and more on a daily basis. What is new today may become quite old tomorrow because of the advances of technology.
Good News:
1. Hospital Technology
Technology is used just about in every phase of life including the hospitals. Surgical Equipment has improved on a mass-scale shift to minimally invasive procedures; there is now the robotic surgical system known as the da Vinci Surgical System. This is according to healthcare-digital.com. They further add that EHR’s (Electronic Health Records) are more prominent in the healthcare industry during recent years. Have you been to the doctor or hospital lately? Doctors are required to record their information online. Some doctors will walk into your room with their iPad or laptop in their hands. Some record their information right then others may record directly after their visit with you. Have you needed a prescription lately? Do you remember when prescriptions were written out and you take them to the pharmacy? Now prescriptions can be sent in to the pharmacy electronically. All you have to do is go pick it up when it is ready. No longer is there the need to drop off the prescription and wait until it is ready. I had really forgotten about the time you needed to bring the hand-written prescription to the pharmacist.
2. Black Tech Titans
Some of the top black Tech’s include Timnit Gebru, Idriss Monthe, Shelly Bell, Arlan Hamilton, Ime Archibong, Stacy Brown-Philpot, Tania Speaks, Tope Awotona, Morgan DeBaun, Melissa Hannah and Sarah Kunst according to bamtheagency.com. My favorite is Melissa Hannah whoms is the co-founder of Mahmee, a digital healthcare company that uses predictic analytics to provide personalized on-demand support for new mothers and infants and she is backed by Serena Williams and Mark Cuban.
3. New Inventions 2022
Weobserved.com talks about a few of the best New Inventions in 2022 which include color changing cars: BMW IX Flow, Humanoid Robot: Ameca, Smart Bathing: Perfect Fill, Foldable Tech Devices: Zenbook, Galaxy flip, etc., COVID-19 Breathalyzer Test: ViraWarn Freedom, Health Body Scans: Withings body scan, Flying Vehicles: SkyDrive’s flying vehicle, and Solar Roof Shingles: GAF Energy’s Timberline Solar. I believe my favorite is the flying vehicles. If you have watched the movie Back to the Future II, flying vehicles were portrayed. Well it looks like that is becoming a reality. Weobserved.com adds that this personal flying vehicle will be super quiet, compact & emission-free, can fly at an altitude of 500 meters carrying a maximum load of 500 Kg at 100 km/h.
4. Technology in the Classrooms
Thank goodness for Technology during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Who would have thought that our schools would close and that United States would be on lockdown. Because we are creative we managed with the use of Technology. Churches were able to continue connections with the internet. Many families even became closer. Even though virtual schooling is not the same as in school contact it was the best that we had at the time and it did and is still working for some students. Did you know that 82% of United State teachers think using technology better prepares students for future careers according to edu.google.com. They further add that 48% of teachers in Australia have a strong interest in professional development using digital learning to engage students. Good technology is so vital for our young people. This brings to mind I had taken my grandson to get his hair cut. The manager turned the television on while we waited and the station was not coming on so he gave the remote to my grandson. My grandson immediately was able to turn it on. My grandson in private said, “Granny all I did was reboot the television.” I told him, “That was awesome because there are those that do not know to reboot it.”
Then I recall another event that I was at and they were trying to show a video on the laptop but could not get the sound to work. My grandson offered to help. He had this small box that he was able to hook up to the labtop wirelessly. All of a sudden they had sound. It did not take him long to do it either. Knowledge is so important. I have observed that young people automatically seemingly love technology.
5. Self-Healing Skins
Are you ready for self-healing skins? Did you know that human skin is an incredibly powerful organ in that it is full of sensors that are tough, water-repellant; and it’s even able to heal itself when damaged. That is according to singularityhub.com. These are things that you probably take for granted. They further add that Japanese researchers are using this tissue engineering with robots. Instead of the robot being stiff, it will have human-like qualities.
6. Artificial Nerve System
According to news.stanford.edu Stanford and Seoul National University researches have developed an artificial sensory nerve system for artificial skin for prosthetic limbs, to restore sensation to amputees and perhaps, one day give robots some type of reflex capability. This artificial sensory nerve system is an awesome step for the numerous of amputees that exists. Just think of the numerous people that have some type of artificial technology in their bodies from hip and knee replacements, heart valve replacements, pacemakers, and much more.
7. 3D Printing Printing of Organs
3D Printing of tissues for ear, skin and blood vessels are in clinical trials according to trtworld.com. They further add that currently more than 106,000 people are waiting for an organ transplant in the United States, with a new person added every 9 minutes to the list.
Do you know of someone waiting for an organ transplant? I am so amazed at the new technology that is developing daily.
