Evergreen blogging is here to stay because this type of content has staying power. Unlike articles about a specific holiday or another 1 time event per year, evergreen blogging can be used daily and seems to stick around for years and years at a time.
Evergreen Content
Have you seen old articles that are still valid and still showing up in Social Media or in SEO searches? Possibly you have an older blogging article that over the years has become quite popular because it is Evergreen.
There are a vast area of subjects that are considered Evergreen.
1. How To Guide’s
How to guides are quite popular because they help people that want to know. Videos and utubes are excellent How To Guides. Recently Pinterest has added Idea Pins. These are excellent for presenting Evergreen subjects. They are excellent sources for those that are more visual. I recall I ordered a toy for my grandchild and was having trouble getting it together. He suggested looking on utube. When I did I was able to see what I was doing wrong. Blogging articles are so much more now that there are more visual aides available to promote the evergreen content.
2. Where to Find Evergreen Content
You can do an internet google search or you can search on Pinterest. It is amazing what you will find. There is a large quantity of subjects as well for Evergreen blogging.
3. Updating
Like anything else you may have to update the content, because technology is ever growing in society.
4. Do You Need Evergreen Blogging?
If you want content that seemingly never grows old and people are always needing and reading about, then you want evergreen content. Think about what you are writing about. Ask yourself, “Is this subject something people want to know about? Is it something people will do an internet search to find out more about? Is it something that will be continually relevant. Think about it some subjects such, as religion, sex, health, crafts, and housing projects will be a conversation for years and years.
5. Sharing
When you are writing about evergreen content sharing your experiences and examples add flavor to the content sorta like the icing on a cake. People love to learn from your experiences the good and the bad. It is excellent to write about how well you are doing, but what about the times your writing did not go as planned? For example I love to watch the movie bloopers. Besides making me laugh it shows me the actors are not perfect and they do make mistakes as do we all. You may discover some evergreen content is more relevant to your readers than others. This is a learning process as well.
6. Responsibility
With your evergreen blogging comes responsibility. Although it is your choice as to use your actual picture of yourself on your blog, a mentor pointed out to me when people are reading your your content it makes it more believable when they can see your actual face. It took me a while to get to that point. In the past I always wanted to use anything other than my actual face. So my mentor actually made a believer out of me. Either way remember it is your blog and always your choice.
7. Social beings
People are social beings. Reading Evergreen Content gives people a connection that they are finding content that is valuable to them. Content that may be valuable for years and years. It gives people a different view. I know that I cannot count the number of times that I have read an evergreen article and it gave me a different even better perspective than I had before. It gives enlightenment.
8. What People Need
Evergreen contents will include things that people actually need. Problems that need to be actually solved. There are numerous problems that exists. In fact as long as you live there will be problems. It took me a long time to find that out. I kinda thought problems eventually go away, but I did not realize new problems can occur. People want solutions that is why they are searching the internet. Do you remember when the internet did not exist? What did people do? Go to the library or buy books. People still do that but the internet is much faster and social media has opened up an entire new realm to produce evergreen content. That is right. Once you publish your evergreen content you want to share it on social media sights. You will find the one that works best for you whether it be Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Pinterest. I love Pinterest because it is an actual visual pinboard. The one good thing about all of these platforms is that you can meet other people exchange ideas and find very good interesting evergreen subjects to write about. The subjects are never ending similar to an open ended-questions.
9. Idea Pins
Idea Pins on Pinterest are a great way to publish evergreen content. Idea Pins are relatively new, but I really like them. God gives me creativity in my spirit so there is no end to the content that can be produced with an idea pin.
10. Evergreen examples
Evergreen content might include dieting, losing weight, diy projects, diy crafts, cooking ideas, case studies, beginner’s guide, and sharing is caring. You will be surprised at the little things you may know that could be considered evergreen content. Some of you have a world of knowledge and may not even realize it. How many evergreen examples not listed here could you add?
11. Passion
What are you passionate about? If you think hard you will find evergreen ideas in your passion. Think about it. Okay you know you are passionate about writing, but what do you like to write about? Whatever it is find the evergreen content in it and write about it. Passion can be large and quite helpful when writing evergreen content?
