There are so many ways that you can support Breast Cancer Awareness. Pause and observe your surroundings. Use what you have.
***Intentional***
1.
Wear Pink
Did you know
that you can wear pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness? Men can wear pink
also. Men can have Breast Cancer as well
as women. What about wearing a pink
shirt, pink ribbons, or pink earring?
Have you considered organizing a Wear Pink Day at work, school, or
church?
2.
Fundraisers
Do you like
to do fundraisers? Do you like to bake? How about having a bake sale, do fitness
classes or even online donation drives?
All the proceeds can go to Breast Cancer research.
3.
Invitations
Why not
invite a professional to talk at your school about Breast Cancer? Or better yet invite a Breast Cancer survivor
to speak and tell their story to the class?
4.
Care Packages
Care
packages or cards with words of encouragement sent to a Cancer Patient can be
very inspiring. This is a time in their
lives that it is very much needed, because Cancer not only affects the patient,
but it affects their entire family. The
support from many is very much needed. This
is a time that their faith may be
tested.
5.
Words of Encouragement
You never know when your words of encouragement can help another. I remember when my relative told me she had found a cancerous lump. Her friend was crying. My initial statement was, "We will overcome this challenge." I believed that God would see her through, and He did just that. She has been cancer free for numerous years now. I had no idea how this would affect our family. I accompanied her to every chemotherapy session, talking with her and other patients there. I even met a man that was there being treated for Breast Cancer. At the time it never occurred to me that men get Breast Cancer as well as women.
My relative had very young children at the time. I
cared for them as much as possible. She further informed the school
that I would be serving as a temporary substitute for upcoming teacher
conferences and any other scheduled school events involving the children. I didn't know how this would affect
our family. I believed we would get
through this, and we did. Though
treatment lasted several weeks, it felt endless to me.
Because our bodies are subject to wear and tear, it is important
to take care of our temple as best as we can.
Even with careful attention to health and lifestyle, illness can still
affect individuals. It is not just
adults, but you see everyday babies and little ones with Cancer.
6.
Applaud Breast Cancer
Survivors
Do you know of any Breast Cancer Survivors? They are to be applauded. Surviving Cancer is a big ordeal. There are so many residual effects left after
Chemotherapy. The sad part about this
also is that chemo kills cancer, but it also kills the body’s good cells. God has made our bodies so wonderful that the
body can grow new cells and this is wonderful.
Breast Cancer Awareness will be observed throughout the month of
October.
All sales from Anointedtoday/Redbubble this month will be donated to breast cancer research.
8.
Profile Banner
Have you thought about changing your profile banner on your social
media accounts to promote Breast Cancer Awareness?
9.
Your Office or Your Home
Do you have a designated space in your home where you can decorate
In pink for Breast Cancer Awareness? What
about decorating your office in pink?
Pink Jewelry or clothing is an option as well? Do you have a pink suit that you could wear
to the office?
Sleeping Cells
What are sleeping Cancer cells?
Some breast cancer cells are able to survive treatment and spread to
other parts of the body. There they can
enter a “sleep” state before waking up and causing the cancer to return. According to worldwidecancerresearch.org.,
these cancer cells can be hard to destroy even with chemotherapy. They further added that Dr. Sirio Dupont and
his team in Italy have found a new way to target these sleepy cells and stop
the cancer spreading.
Donations
Because there is still so much more to know about destroying Cancer research is most definitely needed. Donations help to support that research.
*Maximizing Your Knowledge*
Chemo Brain (Brain Fog)
Are you aware of brain fog after Chemotherapy? I have talked about this before. Brain
fog is just one of the side effects of Chemotherapy. Nearly all medicines cause side effects. Mayoclinic.com talks about this. Some of the effects of brain fog may include
trouble recalling what you have said to others, short-term memory issues,
trouble finding the right words, trouble doing more than one thing at a time,
mental fog, and short attention span.
What Can you do if you experience Chemo Brain after Chemotherapy? You can do regular physical exercise, quality
sleep, good nutrition, cognitive exercises, mindfulness, meditation, and
four-dimensional breathing. Cognitivegxusa.com
provides information on this topic.
Multi-tasking with Chemo Brain
Do you really want to attempt multi-tasking with Chemo Brain? Multi-tasking is often encouraged, but it doesn't always lead to greater productivity. If you are experiencing mental fog, consider implementing strategies such as listing your priorities, segmenting tasks into manageable components, disabling phone and email notifications, creating reference materials, taking thorough notes, utilizing a single notebook, scheduling dedicated planning sessions, and incorporating regular breaks throughout your day. That is according to southerncancercenter.com. They further added that research indicated that very few people (approximately 2%) can multi-task effectively, regardless of their health, age, etc. It’s best to focus on one task at a time.
I agree with that because there are some days multi-tasking is not a part of my agenda. Sometimes you act automatically without being fully aware of your actions. Have you ever locked your car door, only to immediately wonder, "Did I lock my car?"
Please share how you
promote Breast Cancer Awareness.
