Pinterest- Did You Know?

Pinterest an online visual pinboard is steadily evolving. You think Technology is growing in leaps and bounds. It has nothing on how vast Pinterest is becoming.

1. Vochi (Video creating and editing app)

Pinterest has acquired Vochi and it’s vision is to create a place where Pinners can go from inspiration to realization. This newly addition has been added and made available to more than 400 million Pinners around the world. They further added that Vochi was founded in 2019 by Ilya Lesus, Anna Buglakova, Vasily Kasnitsky, and Sergey Malyutin. This is stated by Pinterest newsroom.

2. Hashtags

Although hashtags are not new they have become quite popular with Pinterest. Do you use hashtags? You can make a hashtag by putting the number sign (#) in front of any word(s) without any spaces in between. For example #BlackHistory, #Pinterest. Hashtags will interconnect all pins that have a particular hashtag in it’s description. Loveandpaperflowers.com further states that 2-5 hashtags per pin should be sufficient.

3. Pinterest – as a Business Account

Did you know that if you are using Pinterest primarily to promote your products, your brand or to promote your site you should use a business account? That is according to redrockmedia.co.uk. Also I have found the Pinterest analytic that comes with using a Pinterest account is phenomenal. There is no charge for having a business account and if you find it is not for you, you can always revert back to your former account. Since I tried the business account I really love it. I like that I can readily see how many clicks my pin has received at a glance. It also shows me which pins are performing better than others. This is just good information to know.

4. Keywords

Did you know that keywords are important for your Pinterest Profile, bio, and your Pinterest Boards. This is according to angiegensler.com. When people are searching for a topic on Pinterest keywords will bring them to your boards much faster.

5. How Many Pins?

How many pins do you have on your boards?   According to angiegensler.com you want to pin a minimum of 30 pins per board. She further adds that you want to find high-quality content relevant to each board topic, not just junk and not just your own content.

6. A Few Facts

Pinterest 70% users are women, 40% of fathers in the United States of America use Pinterest, 52% Millennial use Pinterest, 89% use Pinterest to make purchasing decisions, more than 200 billion pins are saved on Pinterest, a Pinterest pins live for months! While the life span of a tweet is a few minutes, the Facebook life span is only a few hours, and Pinterest is one of the largest social networks with more than 367 million users worldwide according to galaxymarketing.global. This is so interesting.

I recall when I started Pinterest.  Creating my boards was slowly evolving, before I knew it it was growing in leaps and bounds. The great thing I like about Pinterest is that I get to see ideas from people all over the world, not just in the United States. It is refreshing to see other points of views, other’s way of living, and other fresh ideas visually. I know that I am a visual learniner as well as hands on so the visual pinboard of Pinterest was a plus for me. I am so grateful to my co-worker for recommending Pinterest to me. I believe I mentioned earlier that I had not idea of what to pin. She suggested that I pin things that were of interest to me. So that is how I got started. I have found Pinterest to be quite rewarding.

8. How Tall and How Relevant?

Images that work well on Pinterest are taller instead of wider, use vibrant colors such as red or pink to attract pinners to share, and create relevant boards for example grocery shopping on a budget might include related boards such as healthy snacks, clean eating recipes, and summer recipes according to zenbusiness.com

9. Parental benefits for employees

Should you be considering a job at Pinterest know that as of January 1, 2022 employees will have 20+ weeks for global parental leave allowing parents to bond with their newborn or newly adopted child, in the United States birthing parents has been extended to 26 weeks from 156 weeks, 12 weeks paid leave for parents of newborns born in the neonatal intensive care unit.
