Do You Suffer With Neck Pain?

Choose to Not Suffer With Neck Pain.

Do you suffer with neck and shoulder pain? There is relief for this. There are exercises and very simple things that you can do for this.

Exercise Neck Pain

1. Exercises

I recall when I worked, I would call about 1600+ accounts more per month. I remember not only myself, but my co-workers complaining about neck and shoulder pain. We all finally figured it was due to sitting in a fixed position daily calling the large number of accounts. We would massage each others' neck. Also when I would go home I would line my children up one by one to massage my shoulders. Then I read about doing the neck rolling exercises of the neck, which helped us tremendously. Rolling the neck around and forward and rolling the shoulders backwards and forward helped me a great deal. I cannot emphasize the importance of exercise in your life. Exercise has so many important benefits for the body and the mind.

2. Heating Pad

Another discovery that I made was using the heating pad. Putting that heating pad around my shoulder and neck area as I retired to bed was very soothing.

3. Sleep Posture

Did you know your sleep posture can cause neck pain? I found this out the hard way. Now it may be okay to lay a baby on the stomach, but when you become an adult that might not be a good idea, because it can throw the back and neck out of alignment. So you might want to consider sleeping on your side or your back. I have had a chiropractor tell me this also.

4. Positioning

I have found that sitting at the computer in the same position for long periods of time is not good. It is very important to keep the body moving. Walk away from the computer or stand up and stretch often. The body was made to move.

5. Let’s Get Physical

Although Michelle Obama is no longer in the White House. The impact that she made with the Let’s Move movement will never be forgotten. It surely made a great impact on my life.

I cannot emphasize the importance of walking. I have observed elderly people and even people with walkers walking. Walk while you can as long as you can. It does not have to be for a long length of time. Some may only walk 30 minutes while others may walk 1 hour to 2 hours. I recall a heart specialist when talking with a friend of mine. My friend asked could she walk. She had a stroke and walked with a limp. He said, “Walking is good for you and it might help you loose some weight also.”

Cardio gets the heart to pumping. According to the Mayo Clinic Staff, cardio exercise can increase your stamina, ward off viral illnesses, strengthen your heart, keep your arteries clear, live longer, and much more.
